Under the radar - MONSTERPOCALYPSE!

It's been a while since I played the frankly amazing Monsterpocalypse, and attempts to get my gaming group to buy into it fizzled out because of the "collectible" random packing thing... which didn't stop me collecting two whole armies!

Having not thought about it for a year or so, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Privateer Press have not only released a compatible Voltron game - and PP are very good at maintaining balance in their games - but a whole new 2 player box set that gives you two (still random) armies without the crazy collectible buying...
now, if only I could guarantee to get two that weren't Cthul or Planet Eaters! (Actually, ideally Terrasaurs and GUARD...)

The Battle Box contains:
-A double-sided map, not sure if this is new as I have all the Rise ones
-Two Health Trackers
-Two Sets of Monsterpocalypse dice
-Some buildings... PP say six, but reports on BGG suggest you get one of each Rise structure, which makes NINE.
-Two random monsters, each with a faction appropriate army of 13 units

Hopefully this incredibly fun skirmish game will start to get even more recognition!

  1. It's so good! There's a big community of blogs/posts/threads etc. about the game over on teamcovenant.com. It's basically the true home of Monsterpocalypse. Check it out if you want to get involved!

The 2-player battle box really did ramp up the ability for new players to get involved. It certainly took long enough to get here - but worth it!
